Hokin Center

The Myron Hokin Student Center was created to fulfill the need for a student forum to exhibit and perform that work, Students wanted a space with an artistic ambience where they could exhibit their visual work, stage live performances, view film and video, as well as maintain an atmosphere conducive to studying, exchanging ideas and promoting personal growth. Responding to the stated needs, the Hokin Student Center, which opened September 28, 1987, provides accessible space (on the ground floor of the Wabash building) for students to showcase their work. In its fifteen years, the Hokin has earned its reputation on campus as the heart of Columbia College.

The Hokin Center's facilties include the Hokin Gallery and the Hokin Annex.
The Gallery functions as a coffeehouse-style meeting area, a place to exhibit artwork, and a screening area for film and video. Visit the Hokin Coordinator's office to talk about proposing an event, check out the latest art show, or attend one of this week's regular or special events.
The Annex houses another exhibition space, the Hokin Annex Gallery, as well as a study/meeting area, a collection of artwork from Columbia College's permanent collection, and a soundstage for performance events like Big Mouth.
