[C]Spaces Opportunities
[C]Spaces Exhibition Guidelines
[C]Spaces welcomes your ideas, and are willing to discuss them with you as you develop your proposal. Please request a meeting with a staff member before submitting your proposal if you need guidance in fulfilling the proposal requirements or have questions about any aspect of the selection process. Email cspaces@colum.edu to set up a meeting.
Deadlines for proposals are scheduled twice yearly. Depending on the availability of the requested venue, exhibitions will be considered for either the following semester or the following year. Before completing a proposal, familiarize yourself with the [C]Spaces venues, our mission and our exhibition standards.
Each gallery is a unique environment with specific physical limitations. You are encouraged to tour our facilities and speak with our staff to discover which location is most appropriate for your intended project.
Exhibitions typically fall into one of two formats:
We currently do not present solo exhibitions presented or curated by students.
[C]Spaces exhibitions have a minimum length of 4 weeks, though some exhibitions may last up to 6
weeks. No proposals will be considered that require less than a four-week exhibition. Once you submit your proposal, it will be forwarded to the Curatorial Review Board for consideration at one of its biannual proposal selection meetings. Final approval and scheduling is made by [C]Spaces staff. The Board and/or [C]Spaces staff may request to contact the applicant's professional references and/or request to meet with finalists as part of the selection process.
Proposals are selected without regard to race, gender, disability or sexual orientation of the applicant(s)
or artist(s).
